Portraits

2023

The world we live in today can be a harsh and lonely place, especially for those on the fringes of society. The sick, the elderly, and the demented elderly are often forgotten and left to fend for themselves. The Covid-19 pandemic has only made this situation worse, with many of these vulnerable individuals being left alone and isolated for long periods of time. It is in this context that a series of emotional portraits has emerged, shining a light on these often-overlooked members of our society.

The portraits in this series are striking in their raw emotional power. They depict the faces of the sick, the elderly, and the demented elderly, capturing the pain, fear, and loneliness that these individuals experience on a daily basis. The portraits are created using a variety of materials, including canvas, packaging materials, and garbage, and the mixed media approach adds depth and texture to the artwork.

The sizes of the artworks are 100x100 cm, giving each portrait a powerful presence that commands attention. The use of mixed media, coupled with a variety of styles and techniques, adds to the emotional impact of the series, making it a powerful call to action for viewers to give love and attention to this vulnerable group of people.

In many ways, this series is a reminder that art can be a powerful tool for social change. By shining a light on the plight of the sick, the elderly, and the demented elderly, these portraits challenge us to think differently about the way we treat those who are often marginalized by society. They remind us that everyone has value and deserves to be seen and heard.

As we move forward in a world that is becoming increasingly complex and challenging, it is more important than ever to remember the power of art to inspire and bring people together. This series of emotional portraits is a testament to that power, and a reminder that we all have a role to play in creating a more just and compassionate world.
